Today I am thinking about marketing communications for Curved Edge Consulting. Admittedly, promotion of my own business is not my strong suit. Yet, I have found most of my independent colleagues across the country find that to be true. We tend to be better at promoting our clients, and often need to follow our own advice.
While working for other companies, I found it much easier to promote my employer, their services, products or whatever than I do my own business. It was much less focused on me. When I am promoting my business, it feels much more like I am saying, “Hey look at me!” That is not so comfortable a place, and I think that is pretty common. Yet, I feel quite compelled to put into action what I am counseling my clients to do.
I have a long way to go, but one step in that direction for me is the launch of my new and improved web site – I am so excited! I hope you will take a look and let me know what you think. An important component of the site for me was indeed this blog. So, I look forward to comparing a variety of… most likely random topics… here if you choose to take a look. See you soon!
